Roosevelt, Eleanor. TYPED LETTER SIGNED. Washington DC 1934 Faint horizontal fold, fine Typed letter signed "Eleanor Roosevelt". One page on White House stationary 8 3/4" x 5 3/4" dated August 29, 1934. Mrs. Roosevelt writes to a Mr. Malone gracefully apologizing for a second time for being unable to accept a speaking invitation:"I am very sorry indeed that I cannot reconsider my former regret, written to you by my secretary, and speak before your organization. The many demands upon my time during the fall and winter seasons make it absolutely necessary for me to accept only invitations from groups with which I have been long affiliated. I wish very much that I could do as you ask but am sure you will understand why I must refuse. With many regrets, I am Very sincerely yours, Eleanor Roosevelt".Very nicely matted and framed with a copy of the famous photo by Yousuf Karsh of Mrs. Roosevelt smiling and holding a pencil
