Extra-illustrated with 75 extra plates of portraits, each mounted to size and with a tissue guard. Bound in full dark maroon morocco with marbled endpapers, t.e.g., the spines with gilt titles and fancy panel ornaments, the covers with ruled borders and scrollwork frames, the doblures with gilt Tudor roses and trailing vine colored with red and gold onlays
Sir Thomas Lawrence's portrait of eleven year old Sarah Barrett Moulton, commonly know as "PInkie", hangs in the Huntington Library in San Marino, California. Sarah's brother Edward changed his surname to Moulton-Barrett. His daughter was Elizabeth Barrett Browning. Lawrence was named Royal Painter succeeding Sir Joshua Reynolds.
