xxx, [ii], 598p. Printed in red and black and illustrated with 14 full-page engravings, head- and tail-pieces, and historiated initials. Bound in full contemporary calf with marbled paste-downs and ornate gauffering, a.e.g., the spine and covers with extensive gilt decoration including a tool of a bird with an olive branch and urns with flowers. Housed in full leather pull-off box lined with pattern paper and decorated with panel designs. A little internal spotting, minor rubbing to binding with chipping loss to spine foot, but remarkably well preserved, slipcase similar. There are a series of small holes where clasps were attached.
