Bound in full scarlet straight grain morocco, a.e.g., the spine with gilt titles and extensive decoration, the covers with decorative rolled gilt frames with cornerpieces in blind. With an accomplished and detailed fore-edge painting of Loch Katrine by the "Dover Painter". The painter identifies the subject of the painting in cursive on the bottem edge of the flyleaf. Binding with some moderate wear and a short surface crack to the upper hinge, endpaper faded and with some wear also, foxing, painting fine. Item #21530
