No. 1 of 20 copies with the plates on parchment and signed by the artist (total edition 622). Folio. (x), followed by the 21 plates, each signed in pencil by the artist with descriptions en face. Bound in full vellum over beveled boards, t.e.g., the spine with gilt titles, the upper cover with gilt titles and central device of a grouse. The plates are clean but for one with staining in the margins. Otherwise many of the description pages and preliminaries have foxing and staining. The covers are worn and soiled, and as such are sold for the plates. Item #22348
