8vo. 375p. Illustrated with wood engravings by Birket Foster and John Gilbert and with a fore-edge painting of Loch-Katrine in the Western Highlands of Perthshire where the poem is set. Bound by J. Ross, Edinburgh in full black pebbled morocco, a.e.g., the spine densely gilt, the covers with ornamental frames in gilt, dentelles. The painting is quite detailed and accomplished, a scene of the lake with two men and a dog in the periphery. A good deal of wear to thespine, flyleaves soiled, probably from repeated display of the excellent painting. Item #23461
