"Chatto and Windus declared themselves in May 1908: 'Believing that the time had now come when beautiful books in the choicest types can be published in larger editions, and at less cost that has been usual with such monuments of typography as the issues of the Kelmscott and other similar but less notable presses, the Florence Press has commissioned Mr Herbert P. Horne to design a new fount modelled upon the finest types used by the Italian Master Printers of the Quattrocento and Cinquecento.'" (Franklin. The Private Presses, p. 160).
