Printed in a stylized type with the Fitzgerald fourth version on the versos and the Sufi interpretations on the rectos en face. Extra title page illustrated in color and highlighted in gold. Bound in full red morocco with marbled endpapers and gilt spine title and decorations. The binding with rather heavy wear, but quite sound. Contents clean. Item #24094
This Rubaiyat was issued in different iterations: Potter no. 252 (this copy) is an edition on Ruysdall paper, also 168 copies on Jap. paper; and 5 signed copies. Coumans no. 1000 is 26 copies of the Ramazan edition with additional watercolors and illustrations.
Still a rare and fascinating Sufi interpretation of Omar's verse.
