First edition thus. Tall, narrow 8vo. Unpaged. 15 leaves. Cover design, decorations and lettering by William Snelling Hadaway. Printed in red and black with double fold beginning and ending leaves with large pictorial frames in black and central illustrated panel in red, other pages printed on the rectos only with text in black underlined in red, all within a banner. Bound in French-fold fashion in full medium brown pigskin, the upper cover with full image of Jerome holding two books surrounded with floral designs, two cloth ties. Book fine, dust jacket fine and complete with a one-inch tear to the rear panel professionally repaired. Item #24516
